Big Coconut Tree
The Big Coconut tree is the symbol of the tropics. With its gracefully curving trunk, edible seeds and large, feathery fronds, it is the true plant of paradise. The coconut palm grows wild on tropical beaches around the world, from small, isolated islands to large beaches in popular resort cities like Warri, Sapele, and Asaba. It is also called the tree of life, because it is one of the most useful plants there is, supplying a variety of foods and building materials from leaves for thatch to trunks for construction and fiber for twine.
